MBTA's Red Line undergoes critical 16-day closure for track work

The MBTA's Red Line's Ashmont Branch and the entire Mattapan Line will be closed for 16 days to allow for major track improvements, including the replacement of rails, ties, and ballasts. The closure aims to improve safety and reliability along this stretch of the Red Line, with 28 speed restrictions being alleviated after the work is completed. Shuttle bus service will be provided for affected riders, running continuously along both lines, and travel on the Fairmount Commuter Rail Line will be free during the closure.

Detroit Grand Prix Continues to Improve as Alex Palou Takes the Win.

The Detroit Grand Prix plans to make track improvements for next year's race after criticism from IndyCar points leader Alex Palou about the tight and short 1.7-mile circuit. Changes will be made to the breaking zone at Turn 3 and the area near Turn 8 before the split pit lane. Lengthening the track isn't an option due to adjacent neighborhoods, businesses, and a tunnel. More than half of the race track was accessible without an admission charge, and about 20,000 fans paid to watch Sunday's race.
