Stolen Pie Van Recovered, Pies Ruined in $31K Heist
A van containing 2,500 pies from Michelin-starred chef Tommy Banks was stolen in Ripon and later found abandoned in Middlesbrough, but the pies had perished. The van, intended for a delivery to York Christmas Market, was discovered with false number plates and was badly damaged. North Yorkshire Police are investigating the theft, which resulted in significant food waste and financial loss for Banks' business.
