Law enforcement agencies across the US increase patrols and checkpoints for St. Patrick's Day.
The Toledo Police Department will hold a citywide traffic enforcement blitz during St. Patrick's Day weekend in several areas around the city. The blitz will enforce all traffic laws, and additional officers are assigned for the campaign. Texting and driving will be a primary offense in Ohio starting in April. The campaign is made possible by a federal grant administered through the State of Ohio Department of Criminal Justice.
