Tokyo Central opens a 44,000-square-foot Japanese grocery and restaurant at Bay Street in Emeryville, featuring fresh sushi and sashimi, onigiri made on site, a large produce section, premium meats, and the Handroll Factory, with a Jan. 31–Feb. 1 grand opening capped by coupons, performances, and giveaways, marking the chain’s first East Bay store and its Northern California expansion from Cupertino.
