Peso Pluma's Concert in Tijuana Under Threat from Mexican Cartel
Peso Pluma, a rising regional Mexican music artist known for his narcocorridos, has received death threats from the Jalisco New Generation Cartel ahead of his concert in Tijuana. Banners were placed across the city warning him not to perform, citing disrespect and loose tongue. The cartel is considered Mexico's second most powerful drug cartel. Peso Pluma's songs have been seen as dedications to the Sinaloa Cartel, although he has not claimed participation. This incident follows a similar threat against another narcocorrido band earlier this year.
