Disney Acquires Full Control of Hulu in $8.6 Billion Deal

The Walt Disney Company has announced its plans to acquire the remaining 33% stake in Hulu from Comcast's NBC Universal, following Comcast's exercise of its right under the put/call arrangement. The acquisition, expected to be completed by December 1, will further Disney's streaming objectives. The deal is valued at approximately $8.61 billion, with the final equity fair value of Hulu to be assessed in 2023. If the value exceeds the guaranteed floor value, Disney will pay NBCU the difference. The appraisal process is expected to be completed by 2024.
