Kirkman, known for his vocals and songwriting contributions, helped create the band's unique blend of pop, rock, folk, and psychedelic sounds. He penned popular tracks such as "Everything That Touches You" and "Cherish." Kirkman also served as the clinical director of the Musicians Assistance Program, assisting artists struggling with addiction. He is survived by his wife, daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren.
