
Thanksgiving murder suspect in Citrus County dies from self-inflicted gunshot wound
A 75-year-old suspect in a Citrus County Thanksgiving murder died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the stomach. Deputies conducting a wellness check found the suspect injured and discovered a dismembered body in a vehicle trunk on the property. The victim was identified as James Banks, 67. Sheriff Mike Prendergast described the crime scene as shocking and expressed regret that the suspect will never face prosecution for the brutal crime.
