Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against Pfizer, Tris Pharma, and Tris CEO Ketan Mehta, accusing them of defrauding the Texas Medicaid program by providing adulterated pharmaceutical drugs to children. The lawsuit claims that thousands of Texas children received an adulterated controlled substance.

"Massive Drop in Medicaid Enrollment as Pandemic Protections Expire"

Texas Medicaid has dropped over 500,000 enrollees in just one month as states across the U.S. are winnowing their rolls due to the end of the COVID-19 pandemic-related renewal process. At least 3.7 million people have lost Medicaid coverage, with 74% losing it for paperwork reasons. The wide variation in enrollment decline among states remains unexplained, but some factors include people no longer qualifying for Medicaid due to new jobs or higher income. Communication hurdles and translation issues have also contributed to wrongful removal from Medicaid. It is estimated that up to 24 million people will lose Medicaid coverage over the next year.
