Bully Ray thinks AEW made the right decision by having MJF vs. Tanahashi open the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door show instead of closing it, given the circumstances. Tanahashi's age and accumulated mileage made it unlikely for him to deliver a main event version of himself, and it would have been unfair to put those expectations out there. AEW used the years of goodwill he's accumulated to their advantage, and MJF's win over Tanahashi is a credible one.
