"RAGBRAI Riders Enjoy Showers, Cornival, and Iowa Charm on Cycling Adventure"
Riders participating in RAGBRAI's 50th anniversary edition found relief from the heat at a car wash in Tama-Toledo, Iowa, which had converted its indoor car wash bay into 20 shower stalls for the cyclists. The showers, complete with individual stalls and shower heads, provided a refreshing break after a challenging day of cycling in near 100-degree temperatures. Additionally, the Tama-Toledo Aquatic Center opened its pool to riders, offering them a chance to cool off. The small town of Tama-Toledo, with a population of just 5,500, welcomed tens of thousands of RAGBRAI participants and hosted a '70s-themed festival as part of the event.
