China's state media has released new images of its next-generation aircraft carrier, the Fujian, a Type 003 carrier with advanced electromagnetic catapults for launching aircraft. The carrier, which is larger and more technologically advanced than its predecessors, is part of China's efforts to enhance its military capabilities ahead of the PLA's 100th anniversary in 2027. The Fujian is set to be the only carrier besides the US Navy's Ford-class to be equipped with the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (Emals), marking a significant step in China's military modernization. This development comes amid ongoing tensions with Taiwan, as China continues military activities in the Taiwan Strait.
