"Deadly Hotel Siege: 3 Soldiers Killed, Dozens Wounded in Somali Capital"
Three soldiers were killed and 27 people were wounded in an attack on the Syl Hotel in Somalia's capital, Mogadishu, claimed by al Shabaab militants. All five terrorists involved in the attack were fatally shot by security forces. Al Shabaab, an al Qaeda-linked militant group, has been waging an insurgency against Somalia's government since 2006. Despite being pushed out of some territories, the group still controls vast areas in southern and central Somalia and continues to launch sporadic attacks on civilian and military targets.
