Barbra Streisand's Memoir Reveals Behind-the-Scenes Stories of Hollywood Icons
Barbra Streisand reveals in her memoir "My Name is Barbra" that she fought to cast Robert Redford in the 1973 film "The Way We Were" after he initially turned down the role. Streisand and director Sydney Pollack were determined to have Redford play the character of Hubbell, and they hired writers to develop his part further. After negotiations and persistence, Redford finally agreed to star in the film, resulting in a richer and more interesting character. Streisand's memoir will be available on November 7th.
