On June 4th, Uluwatu's Outside Corner in Indonesia experienced near-perfect surfing conditions with 8-10 foot waves due to a south/southwest swell. Despite a slow start due to high tide and morning sickness, the waves cleaned up by 11 a.m., providing excellent surf.
Hurricane Lee, a Category 2 storm, is currently located northeast of the Caribbean and is not expected to make landfall. It is forecasted to stay over open waters through Friday, with the potential to regain some strength before weakening again. The storm has already caused heavy swell and is expected to bring breaking waves of up to 20 feet to Puerto Rico and nearby islands. Coastal flooding is also anticipated in certain areas. The National Hurricane Center warns of dangerous surf and rip currents along the U.S. East Coast, but the hurricane's impact beyond that remains uncertain. Tropical Storm Margot has also formed in the Atlantic, while Jova weakened to a tropical storm in the Pacific.
