Swedish Radio Quits Twitter, Setting a Precedent for European Broadcasters.
Swedish Radio has become the first major European public broadcaster to quit Twitter, citing the platform's loss of relevance for a Swedish audience. The move follows similar decisions by US broadcasters NPR and PBS and Canada's CBC, which abandoned the social media platform after it added new labels designating them as "government-funded media". Swedish Radio, which has been on Twitter since 2009, said most accounts would be deleted and others would be labeled as inactive.
