Lake Michigan Ferry Service Suspended Due to Ramping System Failure
The S.S. Badger ferry, which carries traffic across Lake Michigan from Ludington, Michigan, to Manitowoc, Wisconsin, has suspended trips indefinitely due to a mechanical failure of its ramping system. The ferry company has deployed a team to assess and repair the issue, while ticketed passengers can seek refunds or change their reservations. The S.S. Badger, a National Historic Landmark, was built in 1953 and can accommodate 600 passengers and 180 vehicles.
