The suspect wanted in the killings of a New Mexico state trooper and a South Carolina paramedic was captured in Bernalillo County, New Mexico, after a gas station clerk recognized him and called 911. Jaremy Smith, the 33-year-old suspect, was shot and wounded by deputies during a foot chase. Smith is suspected in the fatal shooting of officer Justin Hare and the slaying of paramedic Phonesia Machado-Fore. The suspect has an extensive criminal history and ties to the Albuquerque area. Hare's girlfriend described him as an amazing son, father, spouse, and police officer.

A suspect, Jaremy Smith, has been captured following a two-day manhunt after the fatal shooting of New Mexico State Police officer Justin Hare, who was shot and killed while responding to a call of a driver with a flat tire. Smith allegedly opened fire on Hare without warning, pushed him to the passenger side of the patrol vehicle, and drove off before abandoning the vehicle. Hare later died at the hospital. Smith, with a criminal history in South Carolina, is also a person of interest in the murder of a paramedic in South Carolina.

The suspect wanted in connection with the killing of a flower delivery worker in Oakland, identified as Eric Locelvira, has been captured in Chicago by U.S. Marshals. Locelvira is accused of fatally shooting 27-year-old Matheus Gaidos during a confrontation while Gaidos was delivering flowers in Uptown Oakland. The parents of the victim, who arrived from Brazil, are seeking justice. Charges have been filed against the suspect by the Alameda County District Attorney's Office.
