Gameloft Montreal is developing a new survival role-playing game life sim set in the Forgotten Realms of Dungeons & Dragons, blending survival, action RPG, and life simulation. The game is expected to launch on PC and consoles, offering cooperative gameplay and real-time survival in a campaign filled with resilience, camaraderie, and danger. This initiative comes as Dungeons & Dragons owner Wizards of the Coast and parent company Hasbro focus on expanding the franchise into video games, following the success of Baldur’s Gate 3.
A streamer playing Enshrouded spent three hours manually mining out a basement using a pickaxe, only to discover that there's a construction hammer that could have done the job much quicker. The mishap serves as a cautionary tale for other players, but despite the rocky Early Access launch, Enshrouded has recovered and earned positive reviews for its blend of survival and Dark Souls combat.
Forever Skies, a massive survival RPG available on Steam, combines elements from Bethesda's Fallout series and Hello Games' No Man's Sky. The game has received positive user reviews and offers a first-person post-apocalyptic experience where players can explore a ravaged Earth, upgrade their airship base, scavenge for resources, and hunt for viral pathogens to cure a mysterious illness. Forever Skies is also expected to release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in the future.
Vampire Survivors, the minimalist survival RPG, is getting a free update on August 17th that includes four-player couch co-op for Xbox, PC, and Switch. Players can switch seamlessly from single to co-op play and back between stages, and achievements will be unlockable when playing with friends. All co-op players will be visible on the same screen and share the level-up bar, with a few ways for players to sabotage their comrades. Online co-op isn't officially supported, but PC players can achieve similar results via Steam Remote Play Together.
