Tragedy Strikes: Fatal Submarine Incident Claims Lives of 3 South African Navy Personnel
Three South African Navy personnel have died and one senior officer is in critical condition after being swept out to sea during a "vertical transfer" of supplies from a submarine to a helicopter off the coast of Cape Town. The incident occurred due to high waves caused by the "Spring Tide" along South Africa's southern and southeastern coast. The remaining crew members involved in the rescue operation are receiving treatment in hospital. An inquiry will be conducted to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
