'Fast & Furious 9' Producers Fined $1 Million for Stuntman's Life-Altering Accident
The producers of "Fast & Furious 9" have been fined over $1 million in a U.K. court after a stunt performer suffered "life-changing" injuries on set. The stunt performer, Joe Watts, was severely injured in 2019 when a stunt went wrong, resulting in a fractured skull and traumatic brain injury. The U.K.'s Health and Safety Executive found that the production company had not adequately addressed the risks and cited other failings. The company was fined £800,000 ($1 million) and ordered to pay additional costs. Watts is also suing the company for $1.2 million for personal injury.
