WGA and Studios Hold Marathon Talks, But No Deal Yet to End Strike
The Writers Guild of America (WGA) will resume negotiations with the CEOs of major studios, including Netflix, Disney, Universal, and Warner Bros Discovery, on Friday after a marathon session on Thursday. Despite hopes for a deal, the strike, which has lasted almost 144 days, remains unresolved. The WGA has called for a show of strength on picket lines, while the 160,000-strong SAG-AFTRA union is also on strike and no closer to a new contract. The outcome of Friday's negotiations remains uncertain.
