Fareway brings relief to Iowa towns without grocery stores.
Fareway is building a new grocery store in Story City, Iowa, on the site of the former Royal Cafe building. The town has been without a grocery store for two years, forcing residents to drive 10-15 miles for their groceries. The new store will provide convenience for residents, especially during winter when the roads are bad. Demolition of existing buildings will begin in June, with construction starting in 2024.
