Former Miami Heat employee faces charges in multimillion-dollar memorabilia theft
A former Miami Heat security employee, Marcos Thomas Perez, is accused of stealing over 400 game-worn jerseys and memorabilia, including LeBron James' jersey from the 2013 NBA Finals, which he sold for millions. The FBI investigation revealed he sold more than 100 items for around $2 million over three years, with some items shipped across state lines. Perez was charged with transporting stolen goods in interstate commerce, and authorities seized nearly 300 items from his home. The Heat and NBA have not commented on the ongoing investigation.
