A stretch of Belmont Avenue in Chicago's Avondale neighborhood has been named after the late Steve Albini, a renowned rock icon and audio engineer, who passed away in May. The dedication ceremony was attended by friends, family, and musicians, highlighting Albini's significant impact on the music scene and his contributions to the community. Alderman Carlos Ramirez-Rosa, who proposed the street naming, emphasized Albini's legacy and influence, while Albini's wife, Heather Whinna, and close friends shared memories and stories of his generosity and dedication to music and charity.
