Ambient Music Pioneer Brian McBride of Stars of the Lid Passes Away at 53
Brian McBride, one half of the ambient duo Stars of the Lid, has passed away at the age of 53. The cause of death has not been disclosed. McBride and his musical partner, Adam Wiltzie, formed the band in 1993 and released several albums together. McBride also released solo albums and was a member of the band Bell Gardens.
