Scott McLaughlin claimed pole for the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg with a late 1m00.5426s lap around the 1.8-mile street circuit, beating Marcus Ericsson by 0.0195s; Dennis Hauger’s strong run for Dale Coyne Racing left him third, with Palou fourth and Malukas fifth.
