"UFL Launches with 8 Teams in 2024, Uniting XFL and USFL Under One Banner"
The XFL and USFL have merged to form the United Football League (UFL), announced by co-owners Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Dany Garcia. The new league will feature eight teams, combining four from each of the former leagues, and is set to kick off its inaugural season on March 30. The UFL aims to establish a lasting presence for spring football, building on the intermittent history of spring leagues over the past 30 years. Games will be broadcast across major networks including ABC, ESPN, FOX, and FS1.
