
Spirit Awards 2026: Train Dreams Crowned Best Feature as Lurker Shines in Debuts
Train Dreams dominated the 2026 Spirit Awards, taking Best Feature and Best Director (Clint Bentley) while Eva Victor won Best Screenplay for Sorry, Baby and Alex Russell won Best First Screenplay for Lurker (which also secured Best First Feature). Rose Byrne earned Best Lead Performance for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You; Naomi Ackie won Best Supporting for Sorry, Baby, and Kayo Martin won Best Breakthrough for The Plague. Other winners included Esta Isla for the John Cassavetes Award, The Perfect Neighbor as Best Documentary, and The Secret Agent as Best International Film. On TV, Adolescence won Best New Scripted Series with Stephen Graham as Best Lead Performance in a New Scripted Series. Host Ego Nwodim led the ceremony at the Hollywood Palladium, streamed live on Film Independent and IMDb channels.
