The second update for Sonic Frontiers introduces the Spin Dash move, New Game+ mode, and new collectibles and accessories in celebration of Sonic's 32nd birthday. The update also includes new challenges and decorations in Starfall Islands. This is the second of several updates planned for Sonic Frontiers throughout the year.
Sega has released a free content update for Sonic Frontiers to celebrate Sonic the Hedgehog's birthday, featuring a festive world with balloons and party hats for Sonic, new challenges, the return of the Spin Dash move, collectable Koko variants, and a New Game Plus mode. The update is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC.
Sonic Frontiers director Morio Kishimoto has confirmed that the next update for the game will include Sonic's iconic Spin Dash move. He also revealed that a Chao Garden had been considered for Sonic Frontiers but couldn't happen, and he hopes it can be included in the next main Sonic game.
