Google Home speaker group restrictions imposed on Nest devices
Google Home has implemented a change that restricts newer Nest devices, such as the Google Nest Mini, Nest Audio, and Chromecast with Google TV, to be placed in only one speaker group at a time. This limitation, backed by user reports, affects Google's latest devices currently on sale. Previously, users could create speaker groups encompassing all devices in their home or group them by room. The change is seen as inconvenient and tedious, requiring users to edit groups before each use. Google confirmed that this change is due to a recent legal decision and does not affect existing speaker groups.
