Activision has temporarily removed multiple maps from the multiplayer suite of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 due to poor spawn points that made players easy targets. The maps Quarry, Rundown, Scrapyard, and Karachi were affected, and Activision is working to resolve the issues. The game was developed in half the usual time for a mainline title in the series.

Certain maps in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III have been temporarily removed from multiplayer playlists due to unfavorable spawn points that lead players to pop up right in front of enemy camps, resulting in endless slaughter. The developers, Sledgehammer Games, have acknowledged the issue and are investigating. The four maps affected are Rundown, Scrapyard, Quarry (in the Hardpoint playlist), and Karachi (in the Cutthroat playlist). While this may make the playlists feel repetitive, it is a necessary step to address the problem and prevent players from being farmed for killstreaks and XP.

Players of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III have discovered problematic spawn points on certain maps, particularly Quarry, where players are spawning right in front of the enemy camp and getting quickly killed. While some players have not encountered this issue on other maps or modes, others have experienced it and attribute it to typical day-one roughness. Sledgehammer Games is expected to address the spawn issue in an early patch.
