Spanish Climber Emerges from 500 Days of Isolation in Underground Cave Without Finishing Book.
Spanish climber Beatriz Flamini has emerged from a cave in southern Spain after spending 500 days living alone underground as part of an experiment to test human responses to isolation. Flamini potentially set a world record for the longest time spent living alone underground. She made recordings of her experiences and exchanged them for food at a designated point. Flamini lost track of time and missed major world events, but called the experience "excellent, unbeatable."
