"Illinois Prepares for Solar Eclipse: Over 70 School Districts to Close"
More than 70 school districts in Illinois, including those in the path of totality, have announced closures for the upcoming total solar eclipse on April 8. The Illinois State Board of Education has advised against using e-learning days for the event, and Southern Illinois University Carbondale will cancel classes for the day to host a festival celebrating the solar event. Several schools in the Midwest, including those in Indiana and Ohio, have also reported closures or switches to e-learning for the rare celestial event.
