"Lost Rembrandt Painting Surfaces, Estimated to Fetch £15m at Sotheby's Auction"

Sotheby's London will auction a painting attributed to the Circle of Rembrandt, which has now been reattributed as a genuine work by the Dutch master. The painting, titled "The Adoration of the Kings," is estimated to fetch £10m to £15m. The artwork, painted during Rembrandt's early years in Leiden, exhibits his signature style and underwent an 18-month research project for reattribution. Sotheby's estimate is based on recent sales of Rembrandt works, including a self-portrait that sold for £14.5m in 2020. Christie's holds the current auction record for Rembrandt, set in 2009 at €23.2m.
