Jony Ive's design firm, LoveFrom, has unveiled its first hardware project: a limited-edition record player called Sondek LP12-50, created in collaboration with British audio company Linn. The $60,000 turntable features design elements that enhance its audio quality, including a new power button, custom hinge, and smooth rounded corners. LoveFrom completed the project pro bono, reflecting its focus on pursuing projects for the love of craftsmanship. Ive, known for his work at Apple, sees this project as a full circle moment, as his first musical device design was the iPod.
