FIFA's AI identifies thousands of abusive social media posts during World Cup.

FIFA and FIFPRO used AI to track social media abuse aimed at players during the 2022 World Cup, identifying over 300 people who made abusive, discriminatory, or threatening posts on platforms like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. The biggest spike in abuse was during the France-England quarterfinals game. The system will be extended for use at the Women's World Cup next month.
