The Summit County OVI Task Force will be conducting sobriety checkpoints across Summit County on St. Patrick's Day to prevent drunk driving. Free 'Arrive Alive' rides will also be offered during the holiday.
Summit and Stark Counties in Ohio will hold sobriety checkpoints over the St. Patrick's Day weekend to reduce alcohol-related crashes. The checkpoints will be conducted by the Summit and Stark County OVI Task Forces on March 17 and will continue into the early morning hours of March 18. Impaired driving has led to 219 crashes in Ohio with 128 injuries on St. Patrick's Day in the last five years. St. Patrick's Day is the fourth-largest drinking holiday, according to American Addiction Centers.
