Call of Duty removes skins over homophobic and anti-LGBTQ+ comments.
Call of Duty has removed the Nickmercs operator skin from its shop after the streamer made homophobic comments. The comments were made in response to a tweet about a fight that broke out between LGBTQ+ activists and anti-LGBTQ+ hate groups at a school board meeting in California. Nickmercs repeated a right-wing, homophobic talking point that equates any kind of LGBTQ+ acceptance or acknowledgment as an existential threat to children. Activision Blizzard tweeted about the skin’s removal, stating that they are focused on celebrating PRIDE with their employees and community.
