Private Islands for Sale: From Scotland to Canada, Check Out These Unique Listings

Barlocco Island, an uninhabited 25-acre island off the southern coast of Scotland, is up for sale for about $190,000. The island has no homes or buildings on it but boasts a pebble beach and a flood pond where rainwater gathers for wildlife during the winter months. The land is designated a “Site of Special Scientific Interest” for its flora, fauna, and natural landforms, which significantly limits the possibility of obtaining permission to construct any permanent structure or dwelling. The only possibility for anyone wishing to stay on the island for any period of time would be off-grid solutions, such as solar power.
