The 10 Freeway in downtown LA remains closed in both directions after a fire broke out at two pallet yards underneath the freeway. The closure, which could last days, was implemented for safety reasons as fire crews and city engineers assess the damage and structural integrity of the freeway. No injuries have been reported.
A fatal multi-vehicle crash involving four to five cars closed all southbound lanes of the 405 Freeway in the Westwood area of California early Monday morning. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and the cause of the accident is under investigation. Traffic backups extended into the Sepulveda Pass, and cars were being diverted at Skirball Center Drive. California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert, and it is unclear when lanes will reopen.
