Japanese Skaters Dominate ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2023.

Shoma Uno overcame jumping problems and an ankle injury to secure his second consecutive title at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Saitama, Japan. He hit five quads and built off of a short program lead, giving him a five-point win over Cha Jun-hwan, who captured the Republic of Korea its first men's world medal. American teenager Ilia Malinin won the bronze. Uno's triumph caps a golden Worlds for Japan, as he joins Sakamoto Kaori and Miura Riku/Kihara Ryuichi as world champions for the host nation.

The 2023 World Figure Skating Championships in Saitama, Japan, saw Shoma Uno of Japan take the lead in the men's short program, followed by Ilia Malinin of the USA.
