Haley Van Voorhis, a safety for Shenandoah University, made history by becoming the first woman who was not a kicker or punter to play in an NCAA football game. Van Voorhis, who has been playing football since fifth grade, entered the game in a special defensive package and successfully blitzed the quarterback. Her achievement is seen as an extraordinary accomplishment for women in sports and a testament to the opportunities available at Shenandoah University.
