Former Yankees Pitcher Cut After Short-Lived Promotion
The Chicago Cubs have designated pitcher Shane Greene for assignment after his brief promotion to the major leagues. Greene, who signed a minor league deal with the Cubs in June, made his first MLB appearance on Sunday, throwing one scoreless inning. Last season, Greene had a short stint with the New York Yankees before electing free agency. Throughout his career, he has played for multiple teams, including the Detroit Tigers, Atlanta Braves, and Los Angeles Dodgers.
