The Rip Director Faces Sexual Battery Claims in Civil Case
The Hollywood Reporter reports that The Rip director Joe Carnahan is facing a civil cross-complaint from former partner Michelle Crosby accusing him of sexual battery, assault, and stalking during their four-year relationship, including a 2024 hotel incident and later violence at his Sierra Madre home; Carnahan denies the allegations, saying the relationship was consensual and ended in spring 2024, while Crosby alleges ongoing harassment and other misconduct. Riverside County prosecutors reportedly declined to file charges for sexual battery due to insufficient evidence, and LAPD likewise declined to charge for stalking; Crosby seeks damages in the cross-complaint, and Carnahan has countersued for harassment as both sides push separate lawsuits amid Carnahan’s publicity for The Rip.
