French prosecutors have launched an investigation after a severed fingertip was discovered in a letter addressed to President Emmanuel Macron. The sender, who is believed to suffer from psychiatric problems, is thought to be the owner of the fingertip. Macron receives around 1,000-1,500 letters and emails daily, which are monitored by a team. The president's office declined to comment on the incident.
