Apple has updated its vintage and obsolete products list, classifying the first-generation Apple Watch models as obsolete and the Apple Watch Series 1 as vintage. Obsolete products are no longer eligible for repairs, while vintage products may still be eligible depending on parts availability. The Apple Watch Series 1, introduced in 2016 as a more affordable model, lacked certain features compared to the Series 2. The Series 1 is now considered vintage as it has been five years since its last distribution. The budget model now is the Apple Watch SE.
