Shadows Of Doubt is a procedurally generated detective game where the evidence, witnesses, locations, and even the killer are randomly generated. The game is set in a gritty noir city during the 1980s, and players take on jobs to earn cash, using that to pay rent on their apartment, feed their coffee habit, and stuff their pockets with cigarettes until they need more money, so they take on more cases. The game's sandbox world allows players to approach investigations in their own way, but the sheer range of things to do can be overwhelming. Despite its rough edges, Shadows Of Doubt's hands-off approach to cases and the fact that the killer could be anyone in the city makes it a refreshing and thrilling detective game.
