SenseTime Launches AI Chatbot to Rival ChatGPT in China
SenseTime Group, a top Chinese company, has unveiled its own generative AI, SenseChat, to compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT. While generative AIs have the potential to create new things, they often struggle with factual accuracy. Chinese state media has warned of a potential "AI bubble" and called for regulators to monitor and crackdown on behaviors aimed at hyping up popular concepts. The US has sought to limit China's ability to develop effective AI by banning the sale of AI accelerator chips to Chinese companies.
