Colombian Navy Uncovers New Narco Sub Trafficking Route to Australia
The Colombian navy intercepted a semi-submersible vessel carrying cocaine in the Pacific Ocean, believed to be on a new smuggling route to Australia, where cocaine prices are significantly higher. This marks the third such vessel seized, indicating a direct maritime route to Australia. The operation, part of the multinational "Orion" initiative, resulted in the seizure of 225 tonnes of cocaine and over 400 arrests, highlighting strong links between South American and Oceanian drug trafficking networks.
